This document intends to describe a set of methodological criteria for river vulnerability mapping in relation to hydropower exploitation.
The report proposes:
- a river ecosystems vulnerability profile definition for each river typology
- a common definition of criteria to identify more vulnerable typologies of alpine areas in relation to HP management
- a definition of river types more vulnerable to HP and relative GIS mapping based on administrative layers. The report comes out from the analysis of a wide amount of scientific and gray literature referred to mountain and alpine areas.

- The checklist is available in Excel format to allow a vulnerability assessment at local scale defining a generic score and a short definition of the vulnerability degree of the river. Fields with direct references with vulnerability criteria scores are protected (password: SHARE) to avoid mismatching of full amounts.
